Brookshire’s Truck Driver Hits Million-Mile Mark With No Accidents

Alan Worster, a Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) truck driver based at the grocer’s Monroe, La., distribution center, last week hit the milestone of driving 1 million miles without a preventable accident.

“Alan’s record speaks for itself,” said Scott Reily, VP-logistics. “His safety record reflects his professionalism and commitment to excellence in everything he does.”

A BGC truck driver since 1995 and a two-time winner of the Driver of the Year Award, Worster is the eighth company driver to reach this milestone. He will receive a specially designed “million-mile” ring and have his portrait displayed at BGC’s corporate office in Tyler, Texas.

The other drivers who have reached the million-mile mark without accidents are Dan Powell, Dan Pereira, Tommy Thompson, Thes Freeney, Lynn Lusk, Marvin Miles and Tony Hester.

A regular competitor in the Truck Driving Championships, Worster has won at the local level twice and state level three times. He is the first BGC driver to have advanced to the National Truck Driving Championship three times.
