Brookshire's Teams with Kellogg for $10K Milk Donation

Brookshire Grocery Co. recently teamed with Kellogg to donate $10,000 worth of milk to Feeding America member food banks in the grocer's service area.

For every three Kellogg-brand items purchased from Sept. 17-23, Brookshire’s donated 1 gallon of milk. In total, more than 2,200 gallons were donated to East Texas Food Bank, Tarrant Area Food Bank, Harvest Texarkana Food Pantry, Northwest Louisiana Food Bank and Northeast Louisiana Food Bank.

“With 1 in 6 Americans impacted by hunger, we understand the importance of providing food for families in need, especially perishable goods like milk that aren’t often donated,” said Rick Rayford, Brookshire's president/CEO. “We were happy to partner with Kellogg to offer support to several food banks in our communities.”

Brookshire's launched the promotion in support of The Great American Milk Drive, which to date has donated nearly 200,000 gallons of milk to Feeding America food banks nationwide.

Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. operates 152 stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.
