Brookshire’s Rolls Out ADC’s Fresh Production Module

Brookshire Grocery Co. has completed the rollout of Applied Data Corporation’s (ADC) P-Cubed In-store Fresh Production Planning module company-wide.

The module, which is within ADC's P-Cubed Production Manager system, is one of three software systems that comprise InterStore, the provider’s integrated fresh item management software suite.

According to ADC, the P-Cubed In-Store Fresh Production Planner has “taken the guesswork out of fresh food production planning,” providing the grocer with educated in-stock information on availability in its fresh food departments.

"All 150 of our stores are now running production planning in four departments - Deli, Bakery, Chef Prepared and Produce,” said Jonathan Key, fresh item management coordinator at Brookshire’s, who also noted a 97 percent compliance rating company-wide. “On average, we run around 1,000 production plans per day per department across our 150 stores."

Brookshire’s implemented the software in phases to enable rigorous training in each store. "The first stores to start using the software reported that the production numbers were incredibly accurate,” Key added. “One store director reported that they have had their best quarter ever, with more sales and less shrink."

ADC’s other two systems include InterScale Scales Manager, which hosts data to and from barcode labeling scales in the fresh food departments; and the NutriGen Recipe Manager, which derives the true cost of recipes (including packaging and labor), and manages allergen and nutritional facts for legally compliant labeling.

Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. operates more than 150 stores in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas under the Brookshire's Food Stores, Super 1 Food Stores and FRESH by Brookshire's banners.
