Brookshire Grocery Co. Appoints Two EVPs to Board

Regional independent Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) has elected Carolyn Hutson and Russ Cooper — both company officers who work at its Tyler, Texas headquarters — to the company’s board of directors.

“On behalf of the board of directors, congratulations to Carolyn and Russ,” said BGC president and CEO Rick Rayford. “We are confident they will serve all our employees well by providing valuable input on necessary decisions.”

Hutson is BGC’s EVP and CFO. She joined the grocer in 1996 as a financial accountant, and later held the positions of financial accounting projects manager, director of financial services and VP-treasurer.

Cooper is EVP-general counsel, secretary. He joined the company in 1996 as corporate counsel and currently serves on Brookshire’s ESOP committee as well.
