Bottom Dollar Names Store Manager of the Year

Bottom Dollar Food has selected Jack Marcy as its 2013 Store Manager of the Year. Marcy, who manages a store in East Norriton, Pa., was chosen from a group of 63 store managers across the company, and was honored at an annual Bottom Dollar Food leadership meeting.

“I want to thank my store management team and associates who share in this recognition,” said Marcy, a 28-year grocery industry veteran who joined the discount banner in 2010 as it entered the Philadelphia market. “As store managers, we create and run plans to serve our customers and keep them coming back. That becomes easy when you’re surrounded by a great team like the one I have at East Norriton, who give Bottom Dollar Food customers a simple, lighthearted and energetic shopping experience each time they come into the store.”

Company ‘Heartbeat’
“At Bottom Dollar Food, our store managers are the heartbeat of our company,” added Meg Ham, president of the chain. “Jack personifies this every day in his store by teaching and training associates, mentoring future leaders and caring for our customers and his community. Jack is an outstanding leader, who is truly deserving of this honor. We’re proud to have him as part of the Bottom Dollar Food family.”

Marcy was also the Philadelphia regional winner, while Amy Lynch, store manager at the Bottom Dollar Food in Butler, Pa., was chosen as the Pittsburgh regional winner. Other district winners were Marla Bredniak, Baldwin, Pa.; Martin Hine, Ambler, Pa.; Tara Joseph, Philadelphia; and Caryn Warner, Trenton, N.J.

The chain’s Store Manager Excellence Awards recognize outstanding store managers who enrich the lives of customers, associates and the surrounding communities.
