Bomb Explodes at Tesco Store in Thailand

LONDON - A bomb exploded in the parking lot at a Tesco store in Thailand, the BBC reported today. It was the third time the UK retailer's Thai subsidiaries had been targeted since July.

Nobody was killed and there were no injuries from the explosion at the Tesco Lotus branch in the northern province of Ubon Ratchatani, according to the BBC.

Thai police are investigating the cause of the explosion.

In July, a bomb in a shopping cart killed one of Tesco's employees and injured a male customer, and earlier that month, a hand grenade maimed a woman in a separate incident.

The BBC reports that local businesses in Thailand have complained that they cannot compete with Tesco.

Security at Tesco's Thai shops has been greatly increased since the July bombs.
