Bob Evans Asks Shoppers to Sing for Their Spuds

Bob Evans has invited lovers of its Mashed Potatoes to sing their praises in the Bob Evans Super Spud Sing Along, which gives families the opportunity to win prizes such as a trip for four to Walt Disney World or a year’s supply of the scrumptious side dish.

“Dinner is one of the most hectic but also the most important times of the day,” said Dee Hadley, VP of marketing at Columbus, Ohio-based Bob Evans “That’s why Bob Evans offers convenient, refrigerated side dishes like our mashed potatoes that your family will love so much they’ll think you’ve been working in the kitchen all day!

To enter the contest, families recorded their own versions of the Bob Evans Mashed Potato song, which is set to the tune of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” and submitted them online. Then, submit a video of the performance on the website. The jingle’s lyrics and a soundtrack were available at SuperSpudSingAlong.com.

All video submissions were received by Nov. 28, at which time the contest was narrowed to six finalists. This month, it’s the public’s turn to vote for the best rendition, and the submission that garners the most votes by Dec. 31 will earn its performers the five-night Walt Disney World trip. The finalists will each receive a MinoHD Digital Flip Video Camera.

For non-singers, the Super Spud Sing Along website offers an instant-win game in which players could win a year’s supply of Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes or store coupons.

Ready to serve in three minutes, Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes come in Original, Cheddar, Southwest, Sour Cream & Chive, and Garlic varieties.

Bob Evans Farms, Inc. owns and operates full-service restaurants under the Bob Evans and Mimi’s Café brand names, as well as producing and distributing pork sausage and a variety of complementary homestyle convenience food items under the Bob Evans and Owens brand names.
