‘Blue Meets Black’ in Time for Summer
DCI Cheese Co. has introduced “Blue Meets Black,” an enter-to-win contest highlighting the unique seasonal flavor combination of grilled Black Angus beef topped with slightly piquant, savory blue cheese. Sponsor Salemville, DCI’s line of award-winning Amish blue-veined cheeses, will give away a Weber SPIRIT grill to one grand-prize winner.
In-store shelf talkers with tear pads featuring contest details and a free recipe are available at participating retailers through July 31. Additionally, shoppers with smartphones can connect directly to www.salemville.com for recipes, wine pairings and a coupon, via the promotional display’s QR (quick response) code. The site also includes an online entry form, contest rules and grilling tips.
Sustainably produced by an Amish community in Cambria, Wis., Salemville’s blue-veined cheeses originate from cows that are hand-milked twice a day without the use of machines or electricity. The milk is then delivered to the factory in traditional 10-gallon milk cans. All of the brand’s calcium-rich cheeses are farmer-certified rBGH free, and contain no preservatives or chemical additives.
“Blue cheese and grilled Black Angus beef are a quintessential flavor combination for summer,” noted Katie Jury, marketing manager at Richfield, Wis.-based DCI. “We’re excited to offer consumers the chance to win a Weber SPIRIT grill so they can bring these flavors to life in their own backyard.”
