Blackwell Angus Beef Is Off to the Races
Blackwell Angus has signed on to become one of the first fresh beef sponsors of the NASCAR Nationwide Series, with the beef brand prominently featured on the hood of Roush Fenway Racing’s No. 6 Ford Mustang, driven by up-and-comer Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The new partnership with the premier racing team will go public on Friday, July 2 at NASCAR’s Daytona race.
The debut of the beef brand from Wichita, Kan.-based Cargill coincides with that of the Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Nationwide Series: Daytona will be Roush Fenway Racing’s first race with the Ford Mustang.
“Blackwell Angus beef is a no-nonsense brand,” noted Ivan Brown, Angus programs brand manager. “We’re reaching out to consumers who want a quality cut of beef, one they trust to perform well. NASCAR fans know a good deal when they see one. We’re going to make sure they see the Blackwell Angus brand. The taste and quality of Blackwell Angus beef are offered at a value that allows consumers to enjoy Angus beef as often as they want — whether they’re tailgating with friends before the race or grilling at home with their families.”
The joint promotion is a smart way to raise awareness of the brand, according to Brown. “By creating a fresh beef sponsorship with NASCAR’s Nationwide Series, the Blackwell Angus beef team is providing a point of differentiation for our retailers,” he explained. “This partnership is an opportunity to break new ground within the category and to interact with consumers in a fresh way.”
Under the partnership, retailers will receive point-of-sale materials featuring Roush Fenway Racing and the No. 6 Ford Mustang.
“From victory lane to the checkout lane, Roush Fenway Racing is happy we can deliver NASCAR excitement to race fans,” said Jack Roush, founder and CEO of Concord, N.C.-based Roush Fenway Racing. “Working with Blackwell Angus beef is a great fit for our team and our fans.”
