Bi-Lo Holds Ribbon-cutting for First Super Bi-Lo in Tennessee

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Executives from Southeastern grocer Bi-Lo here yesterday celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the opening of the first Super Bi-Lo in Tennessee. Located at 1667 Ooltewah/Ringgold Road in Ooltewah, Tenn., the new store will employ 145 people and will be open 24 hours a day.

Super Bi-Lo is designed to offer an extensive product selection in each department and enhanced customer service throughout the store. The store features many one-stop-shopping conveniences, including a drive-through pharmacy, a digital photo kiosk, a full-service floral department, and a cafe seating area with Wi-Fi.

Amenities such as a full-service meat and seafood market, expanded organics, and natural food selections are also featured at the new store.

Bi-Lo opened the first Super Bi-Lo in the Greenville, S.C. area last June, and has since experienced "exceptional customer feedback," according to Bi-Lo regional v.p. Dwayne Goodwin.

The opening of the Super Bi-Lo in Ooltewah is part of the retailer's capital investment plan of $40 million in the Chattanooga, Tenn. area announced last year. In addition to the Ooltewah location, two area Bi-Lo stores are being converted to the Super Bi-Lo format. These include the Bi-Lo stores located at 7804 E. Brainerd Road in Chattanooga and at 9213 Lee Highway in Ooltewah. A new Super Bi-Lo located at 5604 Hixson Pike in Hixson, Tenn. will also open this spring. These openings and remodels represent approximately half of the announced $40 million dollar investment.

Bi-Lo operates 222 supermarkets in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
