Bi-Lo, Del Monte, Milk-Bone Sponsor Police Dog
MAULDIN, S.C. -- Bi-Lo here said yesterday it recently presented a $5,000 donation to the York County, S.C. Sheriff's department from Del Monte Pet Products and Milk-Bone in partnership with the retailer for the purchase of a new police dog.
During a ceremony at the Bi-Lo in Rock Hill, S.C., the sheriff's office accepted the $5,000 donation, and officers demonstrated the skills of a K-9 unit police dog for all attendees. This event marks the 8th specially trained dog jointly donated by Bi-Lo and Milk-Bone.
As part of the Milk-Bone Canine Heroes Program, the Milk-Bone nationwide police dog donation program helps law enforcement agencies add to or maintain canine units at no cost to tax-paying citizens. More than 700 police and service dogs have been sponsored by Milk-Bone to communities across the country since 1997.
