BGC Names David Krause SVP of Category Management

Regional independent Brookshire Grocery Co. has hired CapGemini veteran David Krause as its SVP of category management working at the company’s Tyler, Texas headquarters.

“David has led successful team projects for many of the largest retailers and is known for his diligence in implementing processes,” said Brookshire president and CEO Rick Rayford. “We firmly believe his retail leadership experience and collaborative style combined with his background in category management and strategy make him the right choice for us.”

Since 2001 Krause has worked for Capgemini as a principal consultant/senior manager, delivering multiple projects across US grocers, each designed to evaluate, refine, and standardize processes and help develop a continuous improvement culture at retail, in fresh foods, category management, and supply chain.

Prior to this Krause has served as a store director and field merchandiser for American Stores/Jewel Osco, a chain of supermarkets based in Chicago. He also worked for years as fresh foods and grocery senior category manager for the chain.

He holds an undergraduate in business from Indiana University and an MBA from Illinois State University.

BGC operates 151 stores in three states — Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas — with three distribution centers and seven manufacturing facilities.
