B&G Foods Names New E.V.P. of Sales

PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- B&G Foods, Inc. here, a manufacturer and distributor of shelf-stable specialty foods, yesterday said it was promoting Vanessa Maskal to the position of e.v.p. of sales. Maskal will take over from David Burke, who is retiring after a 41-year career in the food and consumer products industries, 16 of them spent with B&G.

Noted c.e.o. David L. Wenner: "It is particularly gratifying to fill this position with such a qualified candidate from within our organization. As director of direct store delivery sales, Vanessa has demonstrated strong management skills, creative problem solving, and a dedication for driving profitability. I am confident she is an excellent fit for her new position."

Maskal came to B&G in 1999 as senior brand manager and after a brief hiatus returned to the company in 2003 as director of direct store delivery sales. Before joining B&G, she served in senior positions at IBC Inc.; Drake Bakeries; and Whatman, Inc.

As e.v.p. of sales, Maskal will report directly to Wenner. Burke, who will stay on at the company through January 2007 to ensure a smooth transition, has begun transferring responsibilities to Maskal.
