Belle Foods Fortifies Mission With Nutritionist

In an effort to help customers select foods for a healthy lifestyle and to provide education on the role of nutrition in the prevention of many chronic diseases, Birmingham, Ala.-based Belle Foods has added registered dietitian Tanya Williams to its team.

As she embarks on her new position with the southeast regional supermarket company, Williams said she looks forward to providing “Belle’s customers, and those in its communities, with the resources they need to make a change in their lifestyle in order for them to feel healthier and live better.”

Williams earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences at Texas A&M University and completed her dietetic internship at Iowa State University. She has experience teaching cardiac rehabilitation nutrition classes, weight loss, diabetes, heart healthy and renal diet counseling. She has also conducted nutrition presentations to local organizations and elementary schools.

The family owned Belle Foods, founded by the father-son team of Bill and Jeff White, has 57 stores in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi.
