Beer Group Taps Anheuser-Busch Exec for Industry Service Award
ORLANDO, Fla. -- The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) honored Bob Lachky, Anheuser-Busch e.v.p., global industry development, this week for his efforts to promote beer and the important role distributors play in the marketplace. Lachky was presented with the association's annual Industry Service Award at its annual meeting here.
"Bob has always served as a great advocate for beer," said Craig Purser, president, NBWA. "We feel it's a fitting tribute to someone who has worked so hard to remind Americans of the role the beverage that serves as our livelihood plays in our culture."

Since late last year, Lachky has spearheaded the "Here's To Beer" industry initiative, a grassroots campaign to elevate the image of beer.
Lachky also was recognized for helping provide tools to help distributors explain their important role in the marketplace. This spring, Here's To Beer launched a Web site that provides distributors with tools to promote beer in their local communities. The Web site, www.HTBMarketing.com, features marketing materials that can be customized for use in local markets.
