The product uses an extremely fine powder that bonds significantly to proteins such as keratin in fingernails, as well as protecting nails longer and creating a smoother, stronger nail as it fills in ridges and masks other imperfections, according to St. Louis-based Cutex, which adds that while the base coat works with any type of nail and polish, it can also be worn alone for a clean, natural, shiny look.
