Ball Park Fires Up 'Free Frank Friday' In-store Consumer Promo
CHICAGO -- According to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, Americans typically consume 7 billion hot dogs between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the equivalent of almost 25 franks to every man, woman, and child.
To help feed the fast-approaching summer hot dog season, Ball Park will give away an estimated 2.5 million free Ball Park GrillMaster Franks as part of its "Free Frank Friday" national promotion.
Every consumer who purchases a package of Ball Park GrillMaster Franks on Friday, May 27, will get a full refund of the purchase price by sending in the rebate form (available at www.ballparkfranks.com and participating grocery stores) and proof of purchase.
The promotion includes all four GrillMaster flavors, including Deli Style Beef, Hot 'n Spicy, Smokehouse, and Hearty Beef.
"Every year millions of Americans gather with friends and family to fire up their grills. Our goal for Free Frank Friday is to keep the celebration going with free, delicious Ball Park GrillMaster Franks," said Deborah Sabo, director of marketing for Ball Park. "This summer we will help thousands of Americans become the grill masters in their own neighborhoods."
To support the effort, Ball Park -- which was launched in 1957 in response to a request from the owner of the Detroit Tigers baseball team -- is also offering tips to help consumers become the top dogs behind their backyard grills.
The Ball Park brand is produced by Sara Lee Foods, a division of Sara Lee Corp., which also manufactures and markets a variety of packaged meat products within the United States, Europe, and Mexico.
