A-B Unveils Golden Mexican Lager

Anheuser-Busch is celebrating its first import from Mexico with Montejo, the St. Louis brewer's new golden Mexican lager, available at retail in the southwest beginning in September.

Using time-honored Mexican brewing traditions, Montejo "is a bright, smooth and full-flavored lager with a crisp finish,” said César Enrique López Pineda, Montejo head brewmaster.

According to Ryan Garcia, Anheuser-Busch VP of regional marketing, “Mexican beers account for nearly 60 percent of imports, and we are responding to consumer demand for an authentic and distinctly Mexican lager.”

In support of the launch, Anheuser-Busch will unveil an integrated advertising campaign in California, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas, including radio, digital, print, experiential and outdoor.

Montejo contains 4.5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV) and will initially be available in packs of 12, 12-ounce cans and six, 12-ounce bottles.
