AWG Brings Home the Bacon for MDA

Aiming to break the current 169-foot world record for the longest bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, Associated Wholesale Grocers plans to create a 200-foot-long BLT.

The sandwich will be hand crafted at AWG’s annual Spring Food Show on April 27 in Kansas City. Gonnella will provide the bread, Farmland Foods the bacon, Dole Fresh the lettuce and Red Sun Greenhouse the tomatoes.

AWG will be accepting donations benefiting Muscular Dystrophy Association, for those attendees who want have a piece of the record-breaking sandwich.

Photos and video feed will be made available at www.awginc.com. The world record will be posted, once officiated, on www.worldrecordsacademy.org.
