Associated Seattle Braces for Impact of Brown & Cole Bankruptcy
SEATTLE - Regional grocery wholesaler Associated Grocers, Inc. (AG) yesterday said it has plans in place to minimize the impact from the bankruptcy of longtime customer Brown & Cole Stores, LLC, which filed for Chapter 11 protection on November 7.
Brown & Cole represents almost 13 percent of AG's total wholesale sales of over $1 billion. The independent grocer operates 27 supermarkets primarily in Northwestern Washington under the names Cost Cutter, Food Pavilion, Food Depot, and Save-On-Foods,

"Throughout our history, AG and its independent retailers have overcome the challenges of competing in the marketplace, and we will continue to do so," said John Runyan, AG's president and c.e.o., of his major customer's bankruptcy.
AG is a wholesaler providing food, general merchandise and retail services to more than 320 stores throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and the Pacific Rim.
