Associated Foods' Farrell Joins Speaking Roses As New CEO
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Ex- retailer Alan Farrell has joined floral company Speaking Roses International here as its new c.e.o.
Prior to joining Speaking Roses, Farrell was v.p. of operations for Associated Food Stores here.
He also had worked as an international operations director for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., a job that included managing the world's largest Wal-Mart operation located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After Wal-Mart, Farrell was v.p. of Kmart's west central division and was a corporate officer and part of the team that guided the company through bankruptcy and positioned the company to purchase Sears Department Stores.
Speaking Roses uses patented embossing technology to imprint messages on roses, as well as other petal-bearing flowers and plants.
