All's Fair
Equal Exchange has launched two new 3-ounce Fair Trade chocolate bars: Organic Ecuador Dark Chocolate (65 percent cocoa content) and Organic Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt (55 percent). The eighth and ninth full-size premium chocolate bars to be introduced by the West Bridgewater, Mass.-based cooperative, the items represent the latest expansion of its popular all-organic, 100 percent Fair Trade chocolate and cocoa product lineup. The Organic Ecuador Dark Chocolate bar is made with chocolate liquor from a cooperative in Ecuador, cocoa butter from a co-op in the Dominican Republic, and fairly traded organic sugar, while the Organic Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt bar combines sweet and salty sensations, accompanied by crunchy caramel bits and sea salt crystals. The latter bar is made with cacao from Dominican and Peruvian co-ops, and fairly traded organic sugar from a Paraguayan co-op. The Ecuadoran bar is vegan. Both bars are kosher, gluten-free and soy-free. A 3.5-ounce bar either variety retails for a suggested $4.25. For further information, visit www.equalexchange.coop.
