Alliance Applauds Introduction of H.F. 431
The Animal Agriculture Alliance has voiced its support for a new bill, H.F. 431, which is designed to help agriculture defend against activists who gain illicit employment on farms and in processing facilities in order to obtain undercover videos.
Iowa State Representative Annette Sweeney introduced the bill, which has been referred to the House Agriculture Committee. A companion will be introduced in the Iowa State Senate.
The Alliance is encouraging stakeholders in other states to provide a copy of H.F. 431 to their legislators as a model.
In related news, the Alliance will host a Farm Security Workshop on May 6, titled Protecting Your Business from the Inside Out. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the Alliance's tenth annual Stakeholders Summit in Arlington, Va.
