Allegiance Retail Services LLC has appointed Vince Colatriano to the position of VP of Grocery. In his new role, Colatriano will assume responsibility for grocery, DSD, natural/organic, ethnic, and HABA/general merchandise.

Bringing 34 years of supermarket industry experience to Allegiance, Colatriano began his career with Carteret, N.J.-based Pathmark Supermarkets (now part of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.), where over 26 years he held a wide variety of store operations and merchandising roles, among them corporate advertising and sales analyst, senior grocery category manager, senior meat category manager, and director of grocery sales and merchandising. In 2006, he became Parsippany, N.J.-based Kings Super Markets’ VP of nonperishables, his most recent position.

'Another Level of Expertise'

"Vince's wealth of industry knowledge and experience will not only help our membership grow and prosper, it will contribute to making Allegiance a best-in-class provider of services to the independent operator," noted Michael Stolarz, the company's president and COO.

"Our group of center store professionals are some of the best in the business, helping independent operators compete every day with the national chains," added Allegiance Chairman and CEO David Maniaci. "Vince will add another level of expertise to our mission."

Allegiance supports independent supermarkets such as Foodtown, Freshtown, D'Agostino, LaBella Marketplace and Brooklyn Harvest by providing them with marketing, advertising, technological and merchandising services, as well as a full line of Foodtown private label products.
