Allegiance Hires Field Merchandiser – Meat/Seafood

Allegiance Retail Services LLC has hired Fabio Guerreiro as its field merchandiser – meat/seafood. In his new role, Guerreiro will act as a liaison between Iselin, N.J.-based Allegiance and its member stores, assuming responsibility for merchandising the meat and seafood departments of existing and new locations.

Guerreiro began his supermarket industry career in 1995 as a butcher in a Kearny, N.J., Pathmark store. By 2002, he was meat manager for the banner, directing staff operations in eight stores.

Over 19 years with Pathmark, and later The Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. after that company, based in Montvale, N.J., aquired the chain in 2007, Guerreiro took on operations responsibilities that gave him extensive insight into customer demographic and product preference.

"Fabio's previous records of success, coupled with his extensive background in meat and seafood will be an invaluable asset to Allegiance," said Dean Holmquist, the company’s VP – perishables, while Daniel Dinkowitz, the co-op's director – member services and business enhancement, added, "Fabio's past experience in meat and seafood planning, merchandising and analysis will greatly benefit our business and support our continued growth in the marketplace."

Allegiance provides independent supermarkets such as Foodtown, Freshtown, D’Agostino, LaBella Marketplace, Farmtastic and Brooklyn Harvest with marketing, advertising, technological and merchandising support, as well as a full line of Foodtown private label products.
