Aldi to Enter Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS - International discount grocer Aldi Inc. is scouting the Twin Cities area for new stores, the Star Tribune reports. The German retailer hopes to open its first Minnesota store in Inver Grove Heights this fall.

"We've been thinking about Minnesota for a while," said Kela Luers, executive assistant at the Aldi divisional office in Burlington, Iowa.

Aldi, known for its no-frills, limited assortment format, has more than 670 U.S. stores, primarily in the eastern half of the country.
