Albertson's Names John Sims Executive VP and General Counsel
BOISE, Idaho - Albertson's Inc. announced today that John Sims will join the company as executive vice president and general counsel.
Sims, 52, will report directly to Larry Johnston, Albertson's chairman and CEO, and will serve as a member of the company's executive committee.
Previously, Sims spent 22 years with Cincinnati-based clothing retailer Federated Department Stores Inc. He was most recently vice president and deputy general counsel, responsible for the day-to-day operations of Federated's legal department.
"We are extremely fortunate to have attracted an individual with John's credentials," said Larry Johnston, chairman and CEO. "His successful track record in mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, employee relations, and litigation management will be a strong addition to the new senior leadership team we are building at Albertson's."
