Albertson's LLC Trims Dallas Presence by 4 Stores
BOISE, Idaho - Continuing to trim its portfolio down to strong stores, Albertsons LLC said last week plans to close four underperforming units in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
The retailer said that the stores have been underperforming for a long time, despite its efforts to revive them. The stores will close by the end of December. The closing will affect approximately 280 employees, who will receive severance packages if they can't find new jobs at the company.
In June, Albertsons LLC closed 11 underperforming stores in Dallas-Fort Worth, and in August closed its Super Saver subsidiary, which operated 11 stores the region.
Just last week, Albertsons LLC agreed to sell its 132-store Northern California division to Save Mart Supermarkets.
