Albertson's, LLC to Buy 10 Raley's New Mexico Stores
BOISE, Idaho -- Albertson's, LLC said yesterday that it intends to acquire Raley's 10 stores in New Mexico, a transaction that would double Albertsons' store base in the Albuquerque region.
The acquisition includes one closed and eight operating Raley's stores in Albuquerque, and one store in Taos. It is expected to be completed in early August, subject to government approval, Albertsons said.
Today Albertsons operates 28 stores throughout New Mexico, eight of which are in the Albuquerque marketplace. After the acquisition is complete, the acquired stores will become part of Albertson's, LLC's Southwest division. Based in Tolleson, Ariz., the division operates 78 stores in Arizona, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas.
Albertson's, LLC operates under the Albertsons banner in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wyoming, and Utah.
