Ahold USA CFO Named to Charming Shoppes Board
Charming Shoppes Inc., a multibrand apparel retailer specializing in women’s plus-size apparel, has appointed Ahold USA EVP and CFO Paula A. Price to its board of directors.
In her role at Quincy, Mass.-based Ahold USA, whose supermarket businesses are Stop & Shop, Giant-Landover, Giant-Carlisle and Peapod, Price is responsible for finance, strategy and planning, real estate development and construction, and technology functions. She joined Ahold USA in 2009 as CFO of Stop & Shop/Giant-Landover. Before coming to the company, she was the chief accounting officer, controller, and a SVP of Woonsocket, R.I.-based CVS Caremark Corp. from 2006 until 2008. From 2002 until 2005 Price held various positions at JP Morgan Chase & Co. She has also held positions at such other financial institutions and businesses as Prudential Financial, Kraft Foods, Sears, Roebuck & Co., and Arthur Andersen LLP.
“She brings significant executive and management experience, as well as her background as a finance executive with both private and public companies,” noted Michael Goldstein, chairman of Bensalem, Pa.-based Charming Shoppes, which operates under the names Lane Bryant, Cacique, Lane Bryant Outlet, Fashion Bug, Fashion Bug Plus and Catherines Plus Sizes, and also operates the Figi’s family of food, gift and home brands. “Additionally, she possesses extensive experience and knowledge of the retail industry.”
