Ahold Names New CFO
ZAANDAM, The Netherlands - The Ahold Supervisory Board has nominated Hannu Ryopponen as chief financial officer. He will assume the position of acting CFO on Sept. 1, and his appointment to the corporate executive board will be proposed at the annual shareholders meeting, which will be held later this year, at a date still to be announced. Dudley Eustace, currently interim CFO, will stay on until further notice.
Ryopponen, 51, is a Finnish national who has lived abroad since 1977. He is currently based in London and is finance director of Industri Kapital Group, a European private equity firm. During his career he has also held posts at IKEA, Chemical Bank, and Hoechst.
