Ahold Expands Coinstar Locations
BELLEVUE, Wash. - Coinstar, Inc. today announced an agreement with Ahold USA to schedule 250 new installations across all six of its supermarket operating companies. Coinstar machines are now installed in about half of Ahold's supermarkets, and the new installations are projected to be completed by February 2004.
"Coinstar has had a strong and productive relationship with a number of Ahold's grocery chains since 1996, and we're very pleased to announce that the relationship has expanded," said Coinstar president Rich Stillman.
Ahold USA's 1,200 supermarkets are located in the Northeast and Southeast regions of the United States and include BI-LO, Bruno's, Giant-Landover, Giant-Carlisle, Tops Markets, and Stop & Shop. Coinstar is currently installed in approximately 660 Ahold supermarkets.
