Ahold Begins Buying Back Shares
AMSTERDAM -- Ahold said yesterday that it has repurchased 10.6 million of its own common shares in the period from Sept. 4 through Sept. 7.
The retail conglomerate repurchased the shares at an average price of 10.0939 euros per share, for a total amount of 106.5 million euros (US $147 million).
These repurchases were made as part of the 1 billion-euro (US $1.4 billion) share buyback program launched Aug. 30, 2007.
