November 20, 2002 -- TORRANCE, Calif -- Nov. 21, 2002-- Agribuys, a supply chain software and service provider to the fresh foods industry, announced today it is using IBM's WebSphere Business Integration solutions to enhance its offering to the grocery industry.

Agribuys' retail and supply side customers can use IBM WebSphere Business Connection to integrate quickly and easily to their best-of-breed and legacy back-end systems.

Agribuys' Fresh Foods Link, a hosted collaborative commerce solution, enables end-to-end transactions between a retail grocer's back-end accounting and warehousing systems and the corresponding systems at its suppliers and transportation carriers. The software supports demand aggregation, price discovery, RFQs and negotiation as well as invoice reconciliation and transportation management. The system, which is hosted by IBM, is designed to be highly secure, with multiple redundancies for disaster recovery.

Agribuys' first IBM WebSphere installation is currently proceeding with Ahold USA, headquartered in Chantilly, VA. Ahold USA will be utilizing Fresh Foods Link to handle all perishable procurement. The company owns 1,600 stores in the United States operating under the BI-LO, Bruno's Supermarkets, Giant Food Stores, Stop & Shop Supermarket and Tops Markets banners.
