AG New England's Retail Subsidiary Unveils Upscale Banner

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- AG Supermarkets, Inc., the retail subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England here, said Friday it has opened a new upscale Harvest Market format in Hollis, N.H.

"Harvest Market of Hollis is a community-oriented supermarket with highly personalized service and an emphasis on quality and freshness," said Tim Merrill, general manager of AG Supermarkets, in a statement. "We work with quality suppliers to offer Bell & Evans all-natural, organic chicken; fresh flowers by KaBloom in our Floral Department; deli meats from Boar's Head; and custom-cut Certified Angus Beef in our Butcher Shop."

The store also features produce, including organics; a bakery; specialty cheeses; fresh seafood; a wide assortment of specialty foods; and wines and spirits.

"For those times when families have no time to cook but still want a good, sit-down meal, we offer ready-to-go meals such as marinated chicken, right off our rotisserie, and hearty soups," added Merrill.

AG Supermarkets also operates the Vista Foods and Riverview banners.

Associated Grocers of New England is the largest retailer-owned wholesale grocery distribution center in New England. Headquartered in New Hampshire, AG New England serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the Upstate New York/Albany area.

The company is in the process of building a new distribution center and corporate office in Pembroke, N.H.
