AG New England to Pilot Web-based Price Optimization App

PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Associated Grocers of New England here will pilot a price optimization software service via a weekly Internet subscription.

The innovative service is from Sacramento, Calif.-based Revionics. In contrast to traditional software companies, which require customers to pay upfront license and professional services fees, Revionics offers its software via subscription over the Internet.

Noted AG New England c.e.o. Mike Bourgoine: "We expect that the Revionics Price Optimization service will allow us to improve profitability in our corporate stores. Having each item's price examined and optimized on a weekly basis is an enormous benefit. The software is very easy to use and should save us a lot of time vs. our pricing processes."

"Associated Grocers of New England joins our growing list of clients and we couldn't be more pleased," added Revionics president and c.e.o. Todd Michaud. "Associated Grocers is able to offer Revionics Price Optimization to its member retailers and to its corporate-owned stores."

Michaud told Progressive Grocer that AG New England should go live with the pilot program within the next couple of weeks, and that the testing period would probably last about 60 days.

Employing Revionics' Retail Advanced Pricing System, retailers can manage information from multiple distributors, manage multiple stores' prices from one screen, and manage temporary price reductions from several manufacturers.

Associated Grocers of New England, a purchasing and distribution cooperative formed in 1946, serves over 400 retailers in the six-state New England region and eastern New York.
