AG New England Hires Meat Buyer/Merchandiser

PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Bill Russell has joined the meat department of Associated Grocers of New England here as a buyer/merchandiser, the company said yesterday.

Russell, who reports to meat merchandising manager Robin Plamondon, succeeds Bill Turner, who has left the company.

"Bill joins AG New England following many years of experience in sales and management, with additional responsibilities in development and procurement," said Plamondon.

Before coming to AG New England, Russell spent the majority his 15-year foodservice industry career at Poultry Products of Hooksett, N.H., where his accomplishments included increasing sales to the Chinese/Asian segment by 60 percent and rising to the position of corporate sales manager.

AG New England is owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative and is the largest retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in New England. The co-op serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area.
