ACNielsen Signs Big Y
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - ACNielsen U.S., an operating unit of ACNielsen, a VNU company, on Monday announced that Big Y has joined the list of retailers whose product sales information will be included in ACNielsen's category management intelligence system, Category Business Planner (CBP). The grocery retailer owns and operates 48 stores in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
"This is exactly the tool we need to compete more effectively and make more profitable decisions. This system will enable us to more closely monitor our category plans, promotional impact, and overall competitive environment in our markets, and work more effectively with our manufacturer partners," said Phill Schneider, Big Y vice president, Center Store.
Besides Big Y, the list of CBP retailers now includes Meijer, SUPERVALU, Walgreens, Hannaford Bros., CVS, Eckerd, Longs Drug Stores, Winn-Dixie, Ahold USA, H-E-B, Giant Eagle, Target, and Raley's.
