Acme, Sunoco Roll Out Gas Rewards Program

Supervalu division Acme Markets has joined forces with Sunoco to introduce “Acme Gas RewardsTM”, an initiative that provides customers with savings at the pump each time they make a qualifying purchase at a participating Acme store. Customers can save as much as 25 cents per gallon on purchases of up to 20 gallons of gas when using their Acme Gas Rewards card at a local Sunoco station.

Beginning Aug. 7, customers who shop at any of Acme’s 52 Pennsylvania stores will qualify instantly for an Acme Gas Rewards card when they make a purchase of $50 or over. The one-time-use card can then be used at any of Sunoco’s 75 participating locations to save on gas purchases.

“Through partnerships like this one, we can reward [customers’] loyalty and help them save more,” noted Bob Owens, SVP, marketing at Philadelphia-based Sunoco. “Acme Gas Rewards is simple, easy and can deliver real savings to our customers each time they fuel up.”

Shoppers can earn Acme Gas Rewards cards with every qualifying purchase of $50 or up; there’s no limit to the number of cards earned. Each card is valid through January 2010 at the participating Sunoco locations.

Sunoco also runs fuel discount programs in conjunction with Shop ’n Save in western Pennsylvania and Price Chopper locations in Watertown and Syracuse, N.Y., and Connecticut.
