Progressive Grocer's Impact Award Nomination Process Has Begun

Progressive Grocer believes business is a force for good and serving others is the foundation on which the food and consumables industry was built. We also believe that the ways in which companies positively impact society are wide-ranging and not fully appreciated. We want to change that situation, which is why we have created the Progressive Grocer Impact Award program.

This first-of-its-kind initiative will showcase the positive impact retailers, suppliers and solution providers are having with environmental, social and governance efforts. We will amplify the accomplishments of retail industry leaders, highlight innovative approaches and inspire the industry to further to greatness. We call this approach, “honoring exceptionalism."

Here’s how it will work. We identified nine key impact areas and structured the program to recognize retailers in one group and suppliers/solution providers in another group. Doing so recognizes that retailers and suppliers/solution providers have impact in very different ways because of differences in their businesses.

Another notable aspect of the Impact Award program is submissions will be evaluated without regard for a company's size. While larger companies may be able to expend greater resources against specific programs, innovation and unique methods of having an impact come in all sizes.

The categories in which we will be honoring exceptionalism include the following:

• Sustainability/Resource Conservation
• Diversity and Inclusion
• Ethical Sourcing/Supply Chain Transparency
• Workforce Development/Employee Support
• Community Service/Local Impact
• Educational Support/Learning Advancement
• Food Security/Nutritional Leadership
• Philanthropic Innovation/Corporate Giving
• Entrepreneurial Support/Free Enterprise Enablement

If your company is doing amazing things in any of these areas, improving lives, creating opportunity and positively impacting communities, then we want to hear from you. We want to help share your story and honor your organization.

Nominations may be submitted for more than one category with the focus on your organization’s accomplishment during its most recently ended fiscal year. The deadline for submissions is July 16, with honorees featured in September across Progressive Grocer’s platforms and during an event in early November in Orlando.
