1 Million Pop-Tarts to Be Given Away at Teen Concert
In keeping with its decades-long reputation for fun and excitement, Pop-Tarts from the Battle Creek, Mich.-based Kellogg Co. has rolled out the Pop It Forward Contest, which asks the question: “What would you do with 1,000, 100,000 or 1 million Pop-Tarts toaster pastries?” In response, thousands of entrants have flocked to facebook.com/kelloggspoptarts for a chance to receive one of 10 weekly 1,000 Pop-Tarts prizes, two monthly 100,000 Pop-Tarts prizes and the grand prize of 1 million of the breakfast treats, as well as to vote for winners.
And now, to sweeten the deal even further, during a live performance at the Times Square retail experience Pop-Tarts World on Dec. 15, teen music star Cody Simpson will reveal the grand-prize winner.
"Pop-Tarts are so much fun! My favorite is Chocolate Chip," said Simpson, a native Australian who is motivating fans of his music to enter the Pop-Tarts contest during his U.S. tour, through appearances in Houston and three other cities to spread the word about what entrants could receive. “The chance to win a million of them is unreal, and I hope all my fans will log on to enter their ideas and vote for the winner.” Simpson’s songs include “143 (I Love You).”
