Web Search on for Face of Mrs. Freshley’s

Nov 1, 2009

Mrs. Freshley’s, the snack cake and pastry line from Flowers Foods operating unit Flowers Bakeries, is asking its Facebook fans to nominate people in a national “Who is Mrs. Freshley’s?” search, in which participants have the chance to characterize the brand by paying tribute to a living, breathing “Mrs. Freshley” in their own lives.

“Since its introduction in 1994, Mrs. Freshley’s has never had a person or character associated with the brand,” explained Flowers Foods brand manager Brent Bradshaw, brand manager at Thomasville, Ga.-based Flowers Foods. “Through the years, our customers have had a direct hand in shaping our products, so asking them to help define the personality behind the brand makes sense.”

To enter the contest, consumers can visit www.Facebook.com/MrsFreshleys through Nov. 9, 2009, to upload photos and write brief descriptions of their picks for the “real” Mrs. Freshley. Only one nomination per person is allowed. Winners will be informed Nov. 16, 2009.

The person who best embodies the Mrs. Freshley’s brand will get a $1,500 American Express gift card, be posted on www.MrsFreshleys.com and may be used in future merchandising, while the nominator will get a $500 American Express gift card. For complete rules and regulations are available at the Mrs. Freshley’s Facebook page.

There are currently over 50 snack cakes and pastries in the Mrs. Freshley’s lineup, among them including Honey Buns, Fudge Brownies and Swiss Rolls. Flowers Bakeries also makes Nature’s Own, Whitewheat, Cobblestone Mill and Blue Bird baked goods.
