Ukrop’s Super Markets Inc. overhauled its fuelperks! program this
week, making customers cash in rewards sooner and work harder to
attain them, according to a published report.
Under the new rules, customers need to spend $50 or more on a
single transaction in order to earn a five-cent per-gallon discount
at 30 Uppy’s Convenience Stores, the company said yesterday on its
Web site. In the past, the number of transactions and timeframe was
unlimited to reach the $50.
The Richmond, Va.-based company also changed how long shoppers have
to redeem the rewards. In the past, customers had 90 days, but now
the rewards must be redeemed by the end of the month after the
month in which the credits were attained, according to
Timesdispatch.com. For example, credits earned in November must be
redeemed by Dec. 31.
However, Ukrop’s did add a new way to earn the rewards to the
program. Each week, the chain will highlight specials that
automatically give customers a discount of five cents per gallon
regardless of the $50 minimum single-transaction purchase.
